Any smartphone is eligible for protection as long as it is working and in good condition:

  • All makes and models

  • Old or new

  • All phone carriers

  • Purchased or leased

You will be required to activate your plan after purchase and present a copy of the original purchase/lease receipt when filing a claim.

To purchase a protection plan, you will need provide your payment information.


After purchase, you will be required to activate your plan. (Activation is a simple test that proves your phone is in good working order. It only takes a few minutes.)


To file a claim, you will need to provide a copy of the receipt for your phone’s purchase/lease.

  • You will receive a text message on your smartphone.

  • We will ask you to click on the link shown in the text message, and follow the instructions to activate. If you purchase multiple smartphone protection plans, you will be required to activate each smartphone protected.

About your plan

A deductible is the amount you pay out-of-pocket per claim before Allstate Protection Plans begins to cover repair or replacement costs.


A $149 deductible applies to all Allstate Protection Plan smartphone claims. This is true regardless of device type, model/make, age, whether the phone was purchased or leased, or whether the claim involves accidental damage, electrical/mechanical failure, or any other failure or damage type.


No deductible is required to access premium services including Tech Support, InfoArmor ID Theft Recovery and Allstate Roadside Assistance.

Yes. You may cancel your protection plan for any reason at any time. If you cancel during the first 30 days, you will receive a full refund. If you cancel after the first 30 days, your subscription will run until the end of the current monthly billing cycle, and it will not be renewed after that.


To cancel your protection plan, simply log into your account or call us 24/7 at 1-866-318-2173.

Your plan is automatically transferred to your new phone (your old phone will no longer be protected), no activation required. Be sure to save the receipt for your new phone—you will need to provide it if you ever have to file a claim.

Your plan will automatically renew on a monthly basis until you cancel it. You may cancel your plan for any reason at any time.


NOTE: If you upgrade your smartphone, your plan will automatically transfer to your new phone. If you change carriers, your plan goes with you and will continue to cover your phone.

  • Accidents including cracked screens and liquid damage

  • Mechanical & electrical failures from normal use

  • Battery failure (one battery replacement per plan)

  • Many claims are approved instantly. In other cases, a specialist will guide you through next steps.

  • In most areas, we offer same-day repairs at a location near you. If your phone can’t be repaired, we’ll replace it.

For the single SmartPhone plan, you may file up to four claims per plan, except in the event that we cannot repair or replace your device and instead issue you a cash reimbursement. In this case, the terms of your plan will be considered completed (and you will not be eligible to file additional claims).


For the family SmartPhone plan, you may file up to eight claims per rolling twelve months, up to the item's purchase price (exclusive of taxes and fees) for each claim.

You can use Allstate Roadside Assistance once every 12 months (for each protection plan you own), as long as your plan is active.

No limit—as many times as you need, as long as your plan is active.

Research shows that smartphone owners are far more likely to damage their phones than to have them lost or stolen. Other protection plan providers charge premium prices to cover loss and theft, but in practice only a small percentage of smartphone owners ever need this coverage.


Allstate Protection Plans doesn’t include loss and theft coverage in our plans so that we can pass the savings onto our customers, while providing them with the coverage they do need: fast, flexible protection for accidental damage and mechanical/electrical failures during normal use.
