Identity verification is an important component of the overall SquareTrade Seal approval process. We confirm your identity in two distinct ways - this helps ensure that buyers know they can trust Seal members.
First, we use your credit card information to verify your name and address. In some instances, the credit card information may not match against your contact information - in these cases, we may ask you to additionally fax us a copy of a utility bill (e.g., a phone bill or an electricity bill).
Second, we send you a physical letter in the mail with a unique code. You need to come to our site and confirm the code. This helps confirm that no one can become a Seal member by stealing the identity of any person.
