Yes. Your receipt is required to file a claim.

Most items come with a manufacturer's warranty that lasts 90 days to one year from the date of purchase. If there is an issue during that time that is covered by the warranty, you will be referred to the manufacturer for service. If there is an issue that is not covered by the manufacturer during the warranty period but is included in your Allstate Protection Plan, the plan will cover it.
The Whole Home Electronics Protection Plan covers eligible electronics in your home for mechanical and electrical failures during normal use. Select items are also covered for life's accidents like drops and spills.
Once you purchase the plan, any eligible electronics you already own, plus eligible electronics you buy while your plan is active, are automatically covered. It doesn't matter where or when you bought them, and you can cover as many items as you need.
Cellphones/smartphones and appliances do not qualify for the plan.
There is a $2,000 per claim limit and an aggregate claim limit of $5,000 during the plan term.

What is the difference between a manufacturer's warranty and the Whole Home Electronics Protection Plan?
Most manufacturers' warranties only cover one specific item for a set amount of time. The manufacturer's warranty also usually only covers defects in materials or workmanship. Most don't cover power surges or breakdowns during normal use.
But with the Whole home Electronics Protection Plan, you can cover as many eligible items—new and existing—during your plan term. The plan covers mechanical and electrical failures during normal use, including power surges. Select items are also covered for life's accidents like drops and spills. No proof of purchase is required, and you don't need to register your products.
When does my coverage start?
Coverage starts as soon as you purchase the plan.
Doesn't homeowner's or renter's insurance cover electronics?
In most cases, homeowner's or renter's insurance will cover a loss due to theft, fire, wind or storm damage. The Whole Home Electronics Protection Plan will cover the repair or replacement of your covered items in the event of a mechanical or electrical failure during normal use and power surges. And for some items, the plan also covers life's accidents like drops and spills.
What is a deductible?
A deductible is a non-refundable fee that is due before each repair or replacement provided under the plan. You must pay the deductible with a valid debit or credit card before we service or replace your item.
Do I need to keep receipts for proof of purchase?
No. There is no need to keep receipts.
How do I file a claim?
You can file a claim by clicking the "start claim" button at the top of this page. Many claims are approved instantly. For others a specialist will guide you through next steps.
For smaller products, we will send you a prepaid shipping label so that you can mail it in for repair. We cover shipping to and from the repair depot.
For larger products such as TVs, we will schedule a convenient in-home service appointment.
What information do I need to provide in order to file a claim?
You will need to provide the make and model number of your eligible product. In some cases, the serial number may also be required.
How many claims can I file?
There is no limit to the number of claims you can file during your plan term.
Are there any brands or electronics that aren't covered?
All brands are covered. All of the electronics listed above are eligible for this plan. Any electronics not listed are not covered.
If I need a replacement for my covered item, will the replacement be the same brand? For example, if I have an Apple product will I get an Apple replacement?
If you need a replacement, you will receive a product that has equal or similar features and functionality that performs to the factory specifications of the original product.
Do computers with sensitive information need to be wiped clean before they are sent in for a covered repair?
Yes. You should back up any data on your devices and wipe any sensitive information prior to repairs as some repairs may cause files to be deleted.
