When does my coverage start?
For new items, your coverage starts on the day you purchased your plan. For some used items, there may be a short waiting period immediately after purchase. If you purchased a plan for a used item, check your plan contract (under “Waiting Period”) to see if one applies.
Standard Plan
Coverage for SquareTrade standard plans begins on the day you purchased the plan. During the Manufacturer’s warranty (typically 90 days to one year after item purchase), SquareTrade will refer you to the manufacturer for service if the issue with your item is covered by their warranty. If there is an issue that is not covered by the manufacturer during the warranty period but is included in your SquareTrade plan, SquareTrade will cover it.

During the manufacturer’s warranty (typically up to one year, may vary by manufacturer and model), you will be referred to the manufacturer for service if the issue is covered by their warranty.
Coverage is extended by SquareTrade for two extra years.
Plans with Accident Protection
Coverage is the same as a SquareTrade Standard Protection Plan (above), with the addition of accident protection which is covered by SquareTrade from the day you purchased your plan.

Mechanical & Electrical Failures
During the manufacturer’s warranty (typically up to one year, may vary by manufacturer and model), you will be referred to the manufacturer for service if the issue is covered by their warranty.
Coverage is extended by SquareTrade for two extra years.
Accidents Like Drops & Spills
Item is covered by SquareTrade from the date of purchase.
