Why Wouldn't the Manufacturer Honor My Warranty?
You'll probably start using it right out of the box, but make sure to test everything it does... every switch, every button, every function it was designed to do

If something doesn't work, contact your seller immediately. SquareTrade doesn't cover pre-existing conditions, but you can get a full refund on your warranty for the first 60 days if you have to return your item.

Items we do not warranty
There are a few things we won't warranty... primarily commercial-use items and anything older than five years and/or sold in non-working condition. So we're afraid the printer you brought home from the office, collector's item 8-track and sold-for-parts laptop are out of luck.

Issues we do not cover
The warranty coverage itself excludes accidental or willful damage, software issues, and consumables like replaceable batteries… though non-replaceable batteries (such as iPod batteries) are covered.
SquareTrade policies are designed to fix you up or pay out, period.

Pre-Existing Conditions
Any items that were dead on arrival or have issues that crop up in the first 60 days are regarded as pre-existing conditions and are not covered, and you really should get your money back from whoever sold you that lemon. Not coincidently, you can get a full refund on your warranty during that time (refunds are pro-rated after 60 days).

Good to know, but I have many questions.
