Former Computer Associates Executive Joins SquareTrade Management Team
SquareTrade Appoints Karen Hagewood to General Counsel
San Francisco- May 10, 2000 - SquareTrade, the Internet's leading online dispute resolution service, today announced the appointment of Karen Hagewood as General Counsel. Ms. Hagewood immediately assumes responsibility as SquareTrade's legal counsel and brings her extensive background in international legal matters, software licensing, development and strategic planning to the online dispute resolution service.

Prior to joining SquareTrade, Hagewood was vice president, general counsel and secretary of ACCPAC International, Inc. a majority-owned subsidiary of Computer Associates, Inc. Previously, Hagewood served as director and corporate counsel of worldwide sales and distribution for Nellcor Puritan Bennett, a medical device manufacturing and distribution company. Before Nellcor, she served as senior corporate counsel and assistant secretary at Hitachi Data Systems, a distributor of Hitachi mainframe computers. Hagewood received her juris doctorate from Rutgers University School of Law and her bachelor's degree in political science from the University of California, Santa Barbara.
