Archive And SquareTrade Announce Partnership To Provide Enhanced B2B Marketplace Services

Archive's "Digital Paper Trail" to Back SquareTrade's Online Dispute Resolution Service

CULVER CITY, CA and SAN FRANCISCO, CA - November 13, 2000 - Archive, a new application service provider empowering customers to aggregate and replay B2B transactions, today announced a partnership with SquareTrade, the leading innovator in the development of a trust infrastructure for e-commerce transactions, to jointly market products and develop initiatives to provide greater security, reliability and growth for business-to-business e-commerce.

The partnership will increase the efficiency of business-to-business e-commerce by providing Archive and SquareTrade's customers with infrastructure tools to foster business growth. When doing business in marketplaces utilizing such tools, trading partners can be assured that contextualized documentation of their transactions are available should a dispute arise or an audit be required. In addition, Archive affords its customers a means for comprehensive analysis of their e-Business activity.

"Archive believes this relationship with SquareTrade further validates the need for a digital paper trail in the online world just as in the offline world," said Jim McDermott, co-founder and chief executive officer of Archive. "Information management for online transactions will be an essential element for timely, successful utilization of SquareTrade's online dispute resolution service as it expands into business-to-business marketplaces."

Current B2B commerce platforms and existing systems are not equipped to preserve the terabytes of data produced in online transactions. Archive combines a scaleable XML engine with a highly available, distributed network to securely index and contextualize transaction information. This, coupled with SquareTrade's dispute resolution service and technology, will make the Web a safer place to do business by providing online users with online tools similar to those that they have previously relied upon to conduct business offline.

"SquareTrade is excited to partner with Archive to bring added functionality and stability to B2B marketplaces," said SquareTrade Chief Executive Officer Steve Abernethy. "We are committed to bringing trust to the Web through the SquareTrade Seal, and by entering into strategic relationships with partners like Archive that will enhance businesses' ability and willingness to enter into increasingly complicated and lucrative online transactions."
